克里斯•沃梅尔 克里斯•沃梅尔是一位自学成才的艺术家，他从未接受过正规的艺术训练，曾做过清扫街道、拾捡垃圾的工作，还曾做过邮递员、工人。由于对风景画的兴趣，他于1982年给自己购置了一套木版画工具，并开始自己学着使用。他的第一本商业书籍《动物字母表》于1990年出版，随即获得了当年博洛尼亚国际儿童书展的图形奖，第二年又获得博洛尼亚少女奖。他的作品《两只青蛙》赢得了2003年度雀巢铜奖，《牙齿、尾巴和触须》入选了2004年度《纽约时报书评》杂志最佳插画童书奖，《莫莉和夜晚的怪兽》入围了2009年度凯特•格林纳威奖。他的许多作品，如《乔治和龙》《大丑怪和小石兔》还被改编成了舞台剧，他的许多插画都被制成了贺年卡。除了创作童书以外，克里斯还兼做其他插画和设计工作，比如广告宣传、包装设计、英国皇家邮票和《当代旅游》杂志封面等。
